Alexandra Falagara, freelance illustrator and designer based in Stockholm, Sweden: I try to find a non-ordinary way of telling stories using simple means. My illustrations are often idea based an correspond to their context with unexpected twists and metaphores (poetic, stunning, smart or fun). I prefer to focus on the content of my pictures rather than the style – still my illustrations are easy to spot in their sharp minimalism.

Many of the pictures shown in this site are made for magazines, thus »quick consumption«. I wish to work more with prolonged pictures made for »slow reading« (e.g. in books and other slow medias) and I'm sure that my pictures then would be quite different in their expression.

In 2007 I graduated from Konstfack, University College of Arts, Craft and Design with a MFA in Graphic Design & Illustration.
Konstfack is also where I worked as a teaching assistant through out the academic year 07/08. This work involved pedagogical elements – theoretical as well as practical.
